So, I think -- sheesh, have they seen my site? I'm kind of irreverent and kooky. My articles aren't that "professional". However, she said that she had seen the site and wanted me to write the article. It was to be about installing and configuring Debian. Whoosh - right up my alley.

Anyway, she asked for some info right before Thanksgiving and I gave it to her, asking my own questions as well.

I heard nothing for a week. Yesterday I wrote her back saying that I figured she had found someone "better" (I wrote "else") to write the article....best of luck, blah, blah, blah. She writes back today saying that indeed, someone from Debian would write the article. What an ass.

This is what this rookie did. She laughed with a few of my articles, so she figured she'd hit me up for one. Then she asked someone else -- or, she asked someone else prior to me. I said I'd do it -- but then she gets an answer from this other persone she had asked so she dumps me. This is how it goes. However when she asked me to write an article on FileZilla or some other software or aspect of Linux it pissed me off.

I'm an egomaniac. We all are the write tripe that others enjoy - even a little bit. :). This persons maneuvering is how you alienate people. There are other magazines and publications interested in my writing a thing or two for them. I dunno. I know I'm whining - but it's not like she hurt my feeling, she was just uncooth, she lacked class.

So, brothers and sisters, this is an example of how not to ask an egomaniac to write an article for your magazine. No matter how big or important you think you are.
