I was just reading a tech article about all you have to do which most of us learned long ago to keep Windows in tune. Monthly defrag of the hard drive, antivirus software, anti spyware times 2 (normally), add a touch of a registry cleaner, and a cleaner of bad link files. That about does it, and still, it really helps to just plain start all over again yearly. So how about an easier fix, with similar results, with a lot less upkeep. Just download and burn a "Live CD" distribution iso (pick one - but Debian is on this site's home page) http://www.debiantutorials.org/home-page-mainmenu-1 and install Debian, and you're in. I'm all for easier, and more permanent fixes. I guess with this kind of blog entry, I should repeat "Linux is NOT Windows". So IF you can ditch your Windows applications, but NOT your windows data and needs, come on over and jump in, the water is fine. ezsurfer Disclaimer - this writer is justifiably biased
