Many thanks go out this week to Petros Koutoupis for his detailed review of his desktop. I "discovered" through his post a great app which integrates so well with the Compiz Desktop. Although I paraphrase, "look and feel of the Apple desktop". I say this, as I don't and won't own an Apple, but I always hear of it's fundamentally user oriented e-ttitude. Actually, based upon my iPod Nano (Apple trademark symbol, please), I don't feel overly user oriented to it. And I almost dread picking up the wife's iPhone. So, e-ttitude is obviously something that is arguable. Still, Avant Window Navigator (awn in some repositories) is one of my now must have desktop add ons. Quick and efficient, and sort of eye candy. Functionally quick - point and shoot simple. It's a set of pushbuttons with icons of whatever is active as a program. Tied to Compiz, it spins to the correct screen really fast, and makes Compiz even more functional, at least to these eyes. Here's a link to Petros's blog about his netbook desktop and how it looks and works for him. I'll edit later and add a screenshot or two of my own. http://blog.hydrasystemsllc.com/2009/06/11/review-ubuntu-904-on-my-asus-eee-pc-901/ ezsurfer
