Wow! No wonder folks get such poor grades in Security and their home systems.
I can't tell you how many folks I've met that didn't realze when connecting the home PC to the Hi Speed (DSL or Cable modem) that they were literally, opening their PC to the world.
And then there's the Tech Guru's helping out...
Quiz: What's your online security savvy?
- Are you protected against viruses, spyware and e-mail spam?
- Has your security software been updated recently?
- Do you download applications from social networking sites?
- See how your responses compare to those of other CNN.com users
I took this "Security Quiz" from CNN today. According to my answers, I'm fairly "safe". I answered that I didn't use a firewall, nor do I use anti-virus software. Wow, that's fairly safe??? If they had asked me if I use Windows, with these same responses, I would be waving a 50 foot tall red flag at the user, IMHO. I don't, at home, no Windows PC for me.
Since I know Linux is not the focus of more of the attacks, I then agree, there's more I could do, but for now, I am fairly "safe". I can't really imagine what you had to do to get a highly unsecure rating on this particular quiz.
It didn't surprise me this article didn't have a feedback section to it...
