So today is Ubuntu 9.10 release date.  Highly anticipated, the number 3 most popular desktop in the world, by most accounts (Counting all the Windows Variants as 1).

In the US, also ran, I couldn't find a single tech story or article on any major news site indicating the release.

But I could find articles reviewing the release of Windows 7, already.

At least our friends across the sea, at the BBC, where news is really news, got us on the front page of the Tech Section.

I didn't read it, yet, but I can say this, so far, nothing but praise for both of the major releases this week, W7 and Ubuntu.  Great job and cudos to all those in IT, neither of these is a small feat.

All in all, thanks for my PC.  I'll stick with Linux, though.  I like that initial performance feel and security.
