I guess I had read about this, but I wouldn't have believed it.
Windows in it's newest "games we all love and adore" has re-written it's boot sequence or program, so now the WUBI and the Mint in Windows install, but don't allow the end users to see the new dual boot.
And getting a W7 machine past the Vista boot loader to boot off the Live CD is now a must do mechanical change, no longer is the CD drive a default boot initial device.
Oh, the games we play.
Well, so bad for the folks from MS. I used to recommend Windows users wishing to try out Linux without feeling totally lost install under Windows. Then, the machine defaults into Windows, and IF the user wants to, can uninstall the entire Linux distro from Windows.
Not any more, cause when you boot onto the Live CD and load Linux from there, the only current working methodology, Guess which system becomes the default system? Welcome to Linux, you can boot any partition you please. Freedom of Choice, all yours, after all, you do own the computer, correct? It doesn't have to own you.
