I saw an article on something that led me somewhere, which, of course, led me somewhere else and down in some comment somewhere I saw a mention of pyroom. Checking it out a little I realized that I had to have it. They bill Pyroom as 'distraction free writing' and they ain't kidding. Talk about minimal. Talk about wonderful.

This kind of completely out of the way aspect is what I crave. Sure, CTRL+ALT+F2 and I could be in tty2 and I have the same thing. Pfft. It's unsexy, Pyroom is not. Besides, I like to alt-tab back over to all the other crap I have going on, too.

A quick ALT+T for my terminalFu, and then a quick 'install pyroom' and I had it. Took maybe 8 seconds. :)

I fired-it up and hit CTRL+H for the help menu. Minimal madness. Basically you've got a few CTRL+ shortcuts and that's about it. I hit CTRL+P for the preferences and chose the amber theme.

As you can see from the pic, it's the whole screen and it's gorgeous. Well, you may not dig the amber but it bothered me the least so I went with it. Still, this full-screen emptiness is doing it for me. All I see as I write my meaningless babble is words. No buttons, distracting colors, blinding whitness, other stuff. Just words.

Dig it.
